Ten Things

CornFedMama has requested to know these 10 things, so Im gonna play along. I need the therapy right now too.

For today's Ten Things, Id like to learn more about my friends. Copy and paste the following questions into the comments or do a post on your blog.

1. Where in the world are you? central Florida

2. What is the first thing you do when you wake up? check KC, let the dogs outside, get a morning breath smooch from the hubby

3. Where have you vacationed? Disney(you never wouldve guessed that), Colorado, Tennessee, N. Carolina, Virgina, Maryland, Minnesota, Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Wyoming, & Montana. I have never been outside of the US not even on a cruise.

4. Do you have pets? I have 2 Boxers Buster & Bambi

5. What do you think is your best asset? I would say my ability to read people, I can usually tell alot about people within the first few moments of interacting with someone. Then again I have been wrong a couple of times, but Ive been right about more people than not. My hubby said my ghetto booty, theres a mans reply for you.

6. What do you feel is the best asset in someone else? Honesty, I hate hate hate fake people. People that say things or act certain ways depending on who they are with or in front of. Who cares if you drive a Benz, or live in a fancy house. Just act like yourself not something you want to be.

7. Where do you see yourself in 10 years? Yikes, I'll be 39 and thats kinda scary to think about. Hopefully we will be financially secure so by 50 we'll be swinging on our porch in the mountains. Id like to have atleast 1 more maybe 2 kids. Just healthy & happy! Notice there was no mention of the word "fat" in that lil saying.

8. Do you have a talent? I can pick up things and pinch the fire out of anyone with my toes. I dont know how much talent that takes but Im getting to sleepy to think about it.

9. If you could ask God anything, what would it be? When my life on earth will be over. Its kind of a double edged sword, but I would want to know.

10. What do you do with your days? I get to spend my days with the cutest baby boy ever! We have so much fun, and I treasure these moments with him while he is so young. I know that I havent missed out on him growing & changing in these first few years. Then theres the cleaning, cooking, laundry, and all the rest of the daily household chores that keep me busy when KC doesnt.

I'd like to learn 10 things about you!! Copy this for your own post or paste your answers in the comments.

What I have been doing all day

This is what I made for Nannys memorial service in the morning. It took me all day long and finally after trying a few different programs I used Scrapblog. Thanks again Sneaky Momma for introducing me to this cool place! I got KC the cutest outfit from TCP (The Childrens Place) I will take some pictures to show everyone.

Everyone is doing as well as can be expected during a time like this, and I appreciate the sweet comments and prayers.

Prayers for Nanny

Please say a prayer for my hubbys family, his Nanny (moms mom) passed away just a few moments ago. She was 90 years old and had really gone downhill fast since September. She was in & out of the hospital a few times and had to move into a rehab facility. We went and saw her on Sunday morning and she was doing ok and she really enjoyed seeing KC. She lived 3 doors down from us until moving to the rehab place, and after KC was born we always went for walks to see Nanny. She made the BEST homemade strawberry jam, and good chicken & dumplings too! KAS spent alot of time with Nanny to, she used to pick KAS up from school every Monday and Wednesday until she decided she couldnt drive anymore in May of last year. KAS even has Nannys middle name. Nanny had 1 daughter, 3 grandsons, and 3 great-grandkids and they were all her pride & joy! Nanny will be dearly missed by every member of our family, but we know shes in a better place.

This is KAS, Nanny, KC, and Syd at Nanny's 90th suprise birthday in Nov.

This is Nanny & KC the day we came home from the hospital. Since she lived a few house from our we stopped to see her before we went home.

Wordless Wednesday

Wednesday for another 41 minutes...better late than never.

Houston we have a MAJOR problem!

Ok Im mortified, disgusted, pissed, and many other ed words. We have just discovered we have a lice outbreak under our roof! EWWWWWWWWWWWWE! My hubbys cousins daughter came over and spent the night with KAS a few weekends ago and she had head lice. Now KAS has it, my mom came over and checked me and oh YUCK I have it. Hubby also has it and I dont think KC has it but Im going to check him when hes asleep when hes actually still. KAS uses my brush when shes here so that why I have it, Im so grossed out! I cant stop itching my head now, and the hubby is going nutso too. I think he is officially shaving all facial hair, so thats a bonus for me ha! Im really mad becuase I had to go to CVS and spend $62.00 and RID spray & shampoo to treat everything, and Im now doing Sundays laundry all over again. This is NOT the first time she has given KAS head lice either, the last time the rest of us were lucky. I think babies under 2 can not be treated at all so Im praying that KC doesnt have them. Im off to treat hubbys hair and then shave it all off, me...I have a 8:30am appt. with my friend that does my hair shes going to treat it and then give me some dye or bleach or acid to make sure those little bugs die a very rapid death!

Ok now that I have shared my dirty little secret, I know you are sitting there scratching your head now arent you.?

Ugggh I feel so icky!

Long overdue Thanks!

Check out my ancient Thank you over here! Since it takes me forever to complete something these days.

Ecspecially you Sneaky Momma!

Not Me Monday

I did not work out a total of 5 days this past week, I did not burn a total of 1,103 calories on the elliptical machine I now spend what adds up to hours on. I did not do a 13 minute ab workout everyday from the "on demand" from the tv, and on day number 2 I did not so wanna die. It did not hurt to laugh, it did not hurt to sneeze, or cough, or move for that matter! It was not rewarding on day number 5 to feel alive again, and ready to conquer program number 5 on my new sleek black framed friend. It was not me who hit the stop button 7 minutes in to tap out and decided to just leave it on manual for the duration of my workout.

Speaking of tap out, my hubby did not call me away from cooking dinner Thursday night to look at his latest discovery on you tube, Gina Carano a women's MMA fighter that will drop just about any guy I can think of. Shes not someone to piss off, thats for sure!

I did not drop KC of at Gigi's house (my mom) yesterday all afternoon so I could do some shopping and roaming by myself. It was not nice at all to be all alone for several hours doing exactly what I wanted to do. You know, Toys R Us, WalMart, exactly what I wanted to be doing! HA! We did not stay for dinner at my moms for rice & beef tips, homemade cornbread, black eyed peas, and squash! I so did not eat a second helping on the one day of the week I allow myself to eat anything I want to! That and my grande Starbucks did not total the calories I worked off this week either did it?

KC did not learn how to finally climb on the couch of by himself, he immediately did not walk right off the couch and face plant the floor. He did not learn his lesson and climb right back up and then slide down on his tummy like his should do.

My hubby and his oldest brother did not spend all of Thursday and Friday being mad at each other and acting like 15 year olds. They were not at all standing in our front yard shouting ugly things at each other over a friggin septic tank! They were not back to speaking and ribbing each other like normal by Saturday. Not normal behaviour from my 39 yr old hubby and 45 yr old BIL!

Well that was a few of my highlights from the week, now off to start some more! Head over to MckMama to check out more Not Me Mondays!

Heres a few photos:

So does KC carry the hubbys genes or what? This is from KC 1st birthday party and he wasnt feeling good poor guy.

A major hurdle....maybe

Oh my gosh! the greatest thing ever just happened! KC went to sleep for his nap with NO paci!!! YEAH!!! After the first of the year I only gave it to him when he was in his bed. Hoping to phase it out eventually. Ive tried to put him to sleep without several times but I always give in. We were outside playing and I could tell he was sleepy, so I asked him if he wanted to take a nap. He got out of his sandbox and marched to the front door. We went inside, he passed out his nighty-nite kisses and continued to make a beeline to his bed. I put him in and he reached out his little hand & I knew what he wanted. I looked where I usually put it, but its not there. I frantically searched the bedroom, the kitchen, nowhere. After a few minutes of no luck I realized....KC wasnt crying. I went in and he was fast asleep. Wow, I was amazed! Is it really this easy?? Im still not having any luck finding the paci, but Im at a loss as to what I should do. Do I go buy one since that was the very bottom of the barrel? Or do I hope that he will fall asleep that easily tonight and tough it out?

Decisions, decisions!

Any input you guys could pass along in this department, please feel free!

Not Me Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

We did not spend most of the week bumming it and being lazy due to the fact KC and I were sick...ALL week.

I did not loose 4 lbs this week due to my lovely illness.(Hey atleast something good came from it)

I did not spend many hours this week snuggled up with KC in the bed singing songs & reading books..and we did not also watch countless cartoons, and Maury.

I did not learn my cuz, I have talked about and Barfly are indeed pregnant. I did not totally flip my lid and say some things I shouldnt have said. I did not ask if it was even my cuz's baby outload for more than one person to hear me. I do not regret saying that, as a matter of fact I also said some other things I will not repeat.

We did not finally venture out & go fishing on Sunday. KAS did not catch the only fish of the whole afternoon.

While KC took a nap, me & KAS (my step-daughter) did not wash the family wagon from top to bottom, and we did not also clean the inside. It was not toatally disgusting in there. We did not find french fries, sippy cups, money, gift cards, dvds, and various other missing in action items buried under the seats.

This is a pretty neat way to get your frustrations out, so what did you Not do?

Here are some more Valentine's pictures from last year, when we had a baby! I'll post some of this years pictures later in the week.

An apple a day keeps the Dr. away....yeah right!

I wished for a better day, what I got was a night of limited sleep and coughing fits, while I shouted orders to the hubby like a Drill Srgt. at 3:20am to bring water, Motrin and tissues. KC didnt feel good all late last night throughout the morning. He has been running a slight fever starting Sat. through yesterday, then after his nap this afternoon he woke up with a 101.5 fever. And for the first time ever, his Dr. couldnt see him this afternoon. We went to the Dr. last week for eczema and a check-up, and I swear EVERY time we go & its not a first am or right after lunch where we dont have to sit there appt., he gets sick! It never fails! They did away with the well/sick waiting room to make it easier with their billing. I personally think the patients well being should get priority, but of course I would say that, I dont do the billing or filing.

KC is being a trooper, not being really fussy or whiny but good gracious hes attached at the hip and I cant even go to the bathroom without the pitter patter of of his flat footed feet hitting the tile to find me. We are going back to the Dr. at 9am, atleast he wont get sick!

Tribute Tuesday

Photobucket

This is going to be short & sweet becuase I have caught the funk from my son, and I NEVER get sick! Except for this time! I feel like someone has run over me with a Mack truck for real!

My Tribute Tuesday is for several things.

Sierra Mist. Pictures, Images and Photos
#1 . Sierra Mist, for being so great & wonderful in my tummy when everything else evacuated the area.
tylenol Pictures, Images and Photos
#2 . Tylenol Cold & Flu medicine, for getting rid of the achiness that makes it hurt to just be still. When I ache its better to lay in bed & be restless than to just lay there and take it.
Photobucket
# 3. Thomas's english muffins, becuase thats the only thing that has agreed to stay down the past few days.
Tempur-Pedic Pictures, Images and Photos
# 4. Tempur-Pedic beds, because when you feel like crap and you have no other choice but to stay in bed, its nice to have a comfy bed to lay in ALL day! I love my bed, you will never own a different bed once you have one.

and last but not least...
Photobucket
# 5. My hubby, for being Mr. Mom today and satying home to take care of us. He made KC breakfast, brought me medicine, drinks, played with KC, thoughed it out through, Oswald, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Handy Manny, Wilbur, Play with me Sesame, and Wonder Pets. I didnt like the tv being on cartoons all day, but hey whatever works! And for being the sweetest nurse a girl could ask for!

Check out Wayne's Tribute Tuesday and others.

Oh how I hope tomorrow is a better day!

Not Me Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

This week I did not spend too many hours to count in the blogosphere.

Our electricity did not get turned off because I forgot to pay the dumb bill. It did not take over 4 hours to get it turned back on. I will not forget to pay it again..really!

KC did not learn some new words this week....hot, bad dog, and wait for it....OH SHIT! I did not go apeshit on my hubby for laughing & then getting him to repeat it for friends and family on cue!

I did not spend all weekend with a sick baby, and we did not stay in our jammies all day on Saturday. I did not wear my said jammies into my local 24 hour Wal-Mart to buy some infant Tylenol because I did not remember to buy any last time KC was sick. My said jammies did not include a yucky t-shirt, hot pink VS pajama pants with dogs all over them, and blue FL Gator slippers, oh and minus a bra. So glad I did not see anyone I knew! (My hubbys Aunt Lorene)

And to finish it up I did not wake up on Sunday morning with a cough & sore throat, and feeling all yucky! I did not proceed to pray to my porcelain god after breakfast and continue to do so for the next hour. Afterwards I did not lay in bed and do absolutely nothing for the rest of the day.

So what did you not do the past week?

A slight delay in my appreciation..

thanks Pictures, Images and Photos

I received the helping hand award from Sneaky Momma much to my surprise! I thought I hadnt been blogging long enough to earn some kind of special prize. She has some fantastic tips for beginning bloggers like me, such as creating a practice blog, or how to make a 3 column template. She has helped alot, and I just love her blog. Thanks for all your help Sneaky Momma!

This fun award is meant to encourage and uplift others in the blogging world. Here's how it works: Select 10 bloggers: 5 you consider your blogging Helping Hand, then "Pay it Forward" by extending your "Helping Hand" to 5 additional new bloggers, in support and encouragement for their efforts.

Heres my list, its a combined all in one list because I dont know alot of people to actually pass it on to. All of these fellow bloggers have helped me either by passing out awesome tips, showing me love by leaving comments, or by just inspiring to be more open in my own feelings. Its amazing how many wonderful women(and a few dudes too) are out here!

1. Sneaky Momma - ....of course! Shes the reason my blog looks so snazzy! She has a great family, and has been very helpful to me starting out.
2. Tale of Two Coins - Jenny has been through alot, but shes really inspiring. She is a great writer, and shes got a way with words.
3. CornFedMama - she was a recipient of this award as well, but she has been really nice about leaving me comments and making me feel at "home".
4. Under the Pink - is a fellow scrapbooker, and I enjoy checking out all of her layouts she posts online. Shes also going to be a newlywed very very soon!
5. MckMama - ok how could she not be every moms idol?? She has 4 kids and finds time to feed her kids healthy, doesnt do tvs, cloth diapers, and has a super blog where you can find the answer to almost any kid related question...and then some.
6. Sneaky Daddy - a mans point of view on things, and Sneaky Momma's hubby. When I read to much about shoes, fashion, and kiddos, I can always learn something about football, or Bob Crane! He has other great topics too!

Thanks again guys!

Where I come from

Photobucket
This is what it looks like when it gets cold in my neck of the woods, which is very rare considering how very deep south we are. (Approximately 400 miles from the southernmost tip of Florida) We usually are in shorts and t-shirts for Christmas, and most Floridans lack a "winter" wardrobe altogether. I live on my hubbys family farm land, and can you guess what they grow? So anytime it drops below 32 degrees, sleep is lost, wood is burnt, coffee is consumed, and there is a hum that rolls through our neighborhood from the diesel engines that run the water on the fields. The water provides a protective layer to the plants and fruit so they do not drop below freezing. My hometown is a small farming community, and the winter strawberry capitol of the US. (Any guesses?) Its a big deal when it does freeze down here in the tropics, so we take ice pictures instead of snow pictures. So here are some pictures of KC playing in the ice in the field next to our house. He loved the grass crunching under his feet, he was dancing around, and he even got try some icicles. It got a whole whopping 24 degrees in the fields here, but I did not wake up in time to catch that thermometers reading! Brrrrrrrrr! My hats off to you guys that have made it through 12 below, I dont know how you do it!

And PS - My cuz and Barfly are trying to work things out, hopefully her life flashed before her eyes. I talked to my cuz and he said he just wants his family to be together and he wants to give Barfly one chance to change things. I told him I could understand that, who doesnt want their family to be together? I told him Id support him no matter what, I would be there. I pray things turn around for them.

Tribute Tuesday

Photobucket

Wayne invited me to participate in Tribute Tuesday, and I thought it was a very appropriate way to vent my frustration over people that are so incredibly stupid! I cant figure out how to make a link so check out Waynes blog for other Tribute Tuesdays.http://pudmud.blogspot.com/

This tribute goes out to my cousins wife, we'll call her "Barfly" My cuz who was 22 at the time got his girlfriend pregnant..she was 20. They were both partiers when they hooked up and had various drunken blow ups during their dating. When barfly got pregnant I was already 6 months pregnant and we started hanging out alot. I remember talking to her about her having reservations about being a mom, and that she was young, & she was scared. I thought she had every right to be scared, I wouldve been when I was 20. My cuz decided to man up, and married her, bought her a nice ring and they moved from a 1 bedroom apartment to a 2 bedroom apartment, and even started working extra shifts to save up for when she was not working.

Once Cam was born my cuz changed completely, he became Mr. Mom. He went to work early and got off at 3:30pm to pick Cam up everyday from family members who were watching him, so barfly could go to hair school and she also worked at a restaurant. Within a month of barfly having her son she decided she needed a Girls Night every Thursday night, and she went out with all her single girlfriends, drinking and making up for lost time. While my cuz stayed at home with their son she was out being acting like a girl with not a care in the world, much less a baby. They had alot of disagreements over the time they have been together most of them being financially fueled due to the high class life style she had to lead. Barfly always had to have the best of everything, all the labels, 100 pair of shoes to match her outfits, designer everything...her favorite show was Sex in the City, and she literally thought she was in NYC not a small po'dunk town in FL. Im not downing people that wear labels or buy the most expensive car, but you have to make and have that kind of money to be able to spend it. And barfly couldnt balance a checkbook to save her life therefore causing overdraft fees that would make any accountant cringe. When she got herself in trouble, my cuz would have to give her money to fix it, and eventually had to start paying ALL of the bills to ensure it was paid & paid on time.

On Christmas, while at our familys Christmas Eve I sat in the living room with barfly & Cam and I watched the most uncomfortable situation ever. Barfly was holding her son, who was obviously not happy sitting with his own Mommy. After sitting there for about 10 mins. & Cam getting more uneasy, Barfly looked at me and said she couldnt deal with it anymore, and proceeded to call my cuz to "Come get your son!" Once Daddy had Cam he was fine & happy as could be. I was floored!

I learned after the first of the year that Barfly was going out 3-4 nights a week and not coming home until wee hours of the morning. Barfly finally graduated hair school, and started a new job working, and they closed on a house to buy to get out of the apartment they lived in. In between her new job & this past weekend Barfly decided she didnt want to be married anymore and she wanted a divorce (her 2nd now). Cams First Birthday will be on 2/5/09 and instead of buying Birthday stuff for her sons party and planning the party Barfly decided she needed to spend $230 on a outfit and shoes for the SuperBowl concert last Thursday night instead. Nothing has been confirmed but he is also pretty positive Barfly has been cheating on him. Now Cam wont be having a Birthday party until the weekend of the 14th because she didnt take the time to plan it and she expected my cuz to give her money to pay for everything.

To make a long story short, my tribute is to Barfly because this past weekend she told my cuz she wanted a divorce and she decided her wants and needs should come before her own childs. Heres to Barfly for being a stand up woman, and taking the responsibility for her own actions. A tribute to Barfly for not giving her own son the chance at a normal life, with 2 loving parents. I know the moment my son was born whatever I wanted went out the window. I know Barfly might have her reasons for throwing in the towel, but she never even gave it a chance. As soon her son was born, Barfly picked up right where she left off. My cuz isnt a saint either, he had issues with drinking, but he overcame that to do what was right by his family. Barfly never gave him the same in return.

Heres to Barfly, and all the other dumb whores who dont step up and be a mother to their child. They should be truly embarrassed & ashamed!

This was a rather sarcastic tribute, but a tribute none the less. Please pray for my cuz, as I know this is not what he had in mind for his family. He is going to have some tough days ahead of him. I know I said to much, but I think I made my point.

Heres a picture of my cuz & Cam from Christmas.

Not Me Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

Since I didnt make it last week, I decided to start early to ensure it was done on time. But then I forgot to post it. I cant win!

This past week, I did not wait in line at Starbucks to get my yummy marble mocha mochiatto only to get not even a mile down the road and spill it all over the car and me.

I did not got out with my hubby & his 2 brothers to a club to watch some young guy play & sing. Thats not the first time Ive been to a club in over 2 years. I did not laugh at all the drunks making fools of themselves while I sipped my bottled water. I did not learn the next day my BILs girlfriend puked when she got home that night. I did not laugh hysterically when I saw her and make fun of her since she told me she only gets sick after drinking 5 Smirnoff Ices and she had only drank 3.

I did not spend $380 having our 4 yr old widescreen fixed so we finally have tv again in our living room. I did not miss it at all!

I did not take KC to Disney and we did not enjoy of second it.

I did not mop my kitchen floor Friday night ghetto style with a wet dish towel and my foot because I was to lazy to pull out the mop & bucket.

I did not spend all day Sunday fishing as a family, instead of going to Disney World, and we still had fun!

And my final I did not get mad & jump up and down when the Steelers won the SuperBowl.

Better late than never!

Super Bowl time!

Photobucket
Go Cardinals!!

Update***I wish we had some 3D glasses, how do I live in Tampa but I somehow managed to miss the part about #D glasses?
